What is an Assemble Item?
An Assemble Item is a product or service created by combining multiple existing items from your ERP database.
This feature is especially useful for contractors who need to calculate and analyze the pricing of specific jobs or work packages.
When to Use Assemble Items
Contractors often use Assemble Items for:
-
Creating a unit price for a construction task (e.g., "Concrete Slab Work").
-
Combining materials, labor, and equipment into one composite item.
-
Simplifying estimates and proposals by grouping related costs.
How It Works
-
Create a New Item in ERP BuildX.
-
In the Assembled Items section, select one or more existing items from your ERP inventory.
-
For each assembled item:
-
Coefficient: Quantity needed for one unit of the assembled item.
-
Rate: Automatically filled based on the selected item’s price.
-
-
You can add as many assembled items as needed by clicking "Add Assemble Items".
-
The system calculates the total cost based on the sum of all included items, coefficients, and any additional margin or other costs you enter.
Example
Job: “Plastering 1 m²”
Assembled from:
-
Cement (3 kg)
-
Sand (5 kg)
-
Labor (0.5 hours)
When you create this Assemble Item, the ERP automatically sums up the cost of these components, making it easier to quote prices consistently across projects.
Benefits
-
Accurate pricing for complex jobs.
-
Faster cost estimation for proposals and BOQs.
-
Transparency in how costs are calculated.
